PRIVACY POLICY

The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Foundation (iaedp) is a professional membership association aimed at providing excellence in quality education and high-level training to an international multidisciplinary group of various healthcare treatment providers and helping professions, who treat the full spectrum of eating disorder problems.

iaedp is committed to protecting the privacy of our members and non-members.  This policy pertains to the personal data of members and non-members (non-member registrants or those who make purchases from iaedp or sign up for the newsletter) collected and/or processed by iaedp.  The legal basis for collection and use of personal data is legitimate interest in iaedp and member/non-member consent for sharing information with third parties.  Legitimate interest is an expressed interest in iaedp by (but not limited to) joining the foundation, joining a chapter, registering for a course, webinar, or symposium registration.  Our registration processes and membership profiles incorporate privacy controls, so members and non-members can determine what information is shared publicly.

iaedp collects personal and professional contact information including mailing address, email, phone number, birth date (month/year) and disclaimers pertaining to prior legal or ethical violations.  Members also have the right to share additional information in their profile like a photo, details on their practice/business, credentials, and other interests.  Members have the ability to access their membership record, make corrections or remove information, and control the information visible to the public.  You also have the right to file complaint, if you feel data has been misused.  Please contact iaedp at iaedpmembers@earthlink.net.

iaedp may utilize the personal information submitted through the membership registration process or course or event registration processes in order to process dues or fees or maintain the membership database (account set up and maintenance).  Data may also be used to personalize content or event experiences, deliver marketing and events communications, conduct surveys or internal research, generally providing goods and services pertaining to iaedp, or for legal or audit obligations.  iaedp may contact you in regards to your membership renewal, certification renewal, symposium, and/or other events.  iaedp may also provide mailing addresses to high level members (Organizational members – in state member mailing list / President Council – member mailing list and symposium mailing list).  iaedp does not share emails for the purpose of third party vendor marketing.  Personal data may also be changed with third party vendors who process dues, registrations, and other member and non-member data for the maintenance of services.  Membership records are maintained for five years after expiration.

iaedp is headquartered in the United States.  Member and non-member data is housed with iaedp as well as third party processors, also located within the United States.  Personal data is secured through secured websites and the use of passwords, which are known to the member or non-member only.  The iaedp staff is trained on use of the membership database and safeguards are in place for continuity and disaster recovery.  iaedp makes every effort to operate within the laws and regulations around data privacy and cares deeply about the privacy of iaedp members and non-members who provide their information to iaedp.
